In 2008, the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre initiated the annual "Three Shadows Photography Award," inviting photographic artworks from Chinese creators worldwide. The award aims to identify artists and works with independent spirits and artistic potential amidst the ever-evolving photography art trends. It examines, organizes, and studies contemporary Chinese photography, introduces cutting-edge Chinese photography to the broader public, and thereby fosters the development of contemporary Chinese photography.
2024年度（第十三届）三影堂摄影奖国际评委团成员包含：法国阿尔勒国立高等摄影学院院长维罗妮克·苏本（Véronique Souben）、日本独立策展人和摄影编辑后藤由美（Yumi Goto）、香港M+博物馆视觉艺术策展人谭雪凝（Isabella Tam）、谢子龙影像艺术馆学术总监、策展人董冰峰，以及三影堂摄影艺术中心联合创办人荣荣&映里。
The Members of 13th Three Shadows Photography Award this year's international jury includes Véronique Souben, Head of the National School of Photography in Arles, France; Yumi Goto, independent curator and photo editor in Japan; Isabella Tam, curator of visual arts at the M+ Museum in Hong Kong; Dong Bingfeng, curator and critic of video art; and RongRong&inri, co-founders of the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre.
时隔7年，“三影堂摄影奖作品展”荣幸受邀巡展至西安欧亚学院，共呈现20组（21位）具有独特视角和艺术表达的艺术家入围作品，展现了当代摄影艺术的新锐力量。他们分别是：柴觅、陈川端、陈渊博、董亚林、高山、高岩、郭常聚、姜雪、蒋涵萱、李想、吕佳桐、彭佳、秦念&姜惠文、任泽远、孙小舟、谭荔洁、涂晓连、文豪、杨越乔、张紫璇（按姓氏拼音首字母排序）。2024年度（第十三届）三影堂摄影奖作品展开幕暨颁奖典礼于3月30日圆满落幕，当天揭晓三大奖项：艺术家陈川端以其作品《世界在巨蛇的腹中》摘得本届三影堂摄影奖大奖，获得奖金八万元人民币（税前），作品将纳入三影堂馆藏；艺术家柴觅以作品《A的寓言》获得由著名收藏家靳宏伟特别支持的“靳宏伟收藏奖”, 奖金八万元人民币（税前），作品将被靳宏伟收藏；艺术家蒋涵萱以作品《厨房里的谈话》获得“骆伯年优秀摄影师奖”，奖金一万元人民币（税前）。
Seven years later, the "Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition" is honored to embark on a tour to Xi'an Eurasia University, showcasing 20 sets (21 artists) of finalists' works characterized by unique perspectives and artistic expressions, demonstrating the emerging forces in contemporary photography art. These artists are Chai Mi, Chen Chuanduan, Chen Yuanbo, Dong Yalin, Gao Shan, Gao Yan, Guo Changju, Jiang Xue, Jiang Hanxuan, Li Xiang, Lu Jiatong, Peng Jia, Qin Nian & Huiwen, Ren Zeyuan, Sun Xiaozhou, Tan Lijie, Tu Xiaolian, Wen Hao, Hester Yang, Leah Zhang . The opening ceremony and award presentation of the 2024 (13th) Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition concluded successfully on March 30th, with three major awards announced: Artist Chen Chuanduan won the Grand Prize with his work " Belly of the Giant Serpent" receiving a cash prize of RMB 80,000 (before tax) and inclusion in the Three Shadows collection; Artist Chai Mi won the "Charles Jin Collection Prize" with a bonus of 80,000 RMB (before tax）and the award-winning works will be collected by Charles Jin), for her work " A’s Fable"; Artist Jiang Hanxuan won the "Luo Bonian Photographer Prize" with her work "Conversation in the Kitchen" receiving a prize of RMB 10,000 (before tax).

Amidst the ongoing global turmoil, individuals and collectives alike face unprecedented mental and existential challenges. Confronting these grave difficulties, artists have resiliently explored, openly sharing their inner worlds while engaging in a vigorous dialogue with the reality. Some employ diverse media to intertwine individual life experiences, societal microcosms, and profound historical memories; others act like keen searchlights, illuminating latent forces deep within the psyche that are difficult to perceive yet profoundly shape personal cognition and emotions; still, others prioritize physical and spiritual journeys, emphasizing spiritual freedom and transcendence.

We aspire to leverage this exhibition as an opportunity to foster in-depth exchanges with faculty and students at Xi'an universities, learning from each other through sharing and inspiration. Together, we strive to further cultivate photography art within campus environments and contribute to the integration and progress of art education and the industry. During the exhibition, the Three Shadows Education Program will collaborate with the Eurasia University Art and Design School, to launch a series of events, jointly exploring the boundless possibilities of photography art!
