“中国新媒体艺术教育二十年”项目立足中国新媒体艺术教育的现状和前沿问题,对2001年至2020年间的实验艺术与跨媒体艺术教育机构(包含专业性美术学院和综合性大学的艺术设计学院)重要个案进行调研,并基于口述访谈和影像记录,描述从新媒体艺术、数字艺术到实验艺术、跨媒体艺术,再到艺术与科技、科技艺术的线性脉络,以及这些概念在艺术学学科门类框架下的非线性关系 。项目尝试从个案到系统,呈现中国新媒体艺术教育二十年的立体图景,为未来艺术教育的发展提供第一手资料、档案和文献。

The "20 Years of New Media Art Education in China" project is based on the current situation and frontier issues of China's New Media Art education, and investigates important cases of Experimental Art and Intermedia Art education institutions which include art academies and School of Art & Design of comprehensive universities from 2001 to 2020. It is based on oral interviews and video recording, sorting out the linear context of New Media Art, Digital Art, Experimental Art, Intermedia Art, Art and Technology, and Sci-Tech Arts, as well as the non-linear relationship of these concepts within the framework of art disciplines. The project attempts to present a stereoscopic picture of China's new media art education in the past 20 years from individual cases to the system, and provide rst-hand information, archives and documents for the development of art education in the future.

我对未来中国艺术与设计高等教育的最基本的总体想法是应为学生提供相关的技术和技能,以便他们能够有效地表达自己的思想和创意。同时更重要的是,亦正如艺术与设计史反复给予我们的教训和启示,如果在学生教育中只传授技术技能而不首要重视创造力和批判性创新思维的培养,必将导致技术教育的局限性。因此,这些技术和技能的传授应旨在帮助学生学会如何应对当今快速发展的社会,教导学生体悟批判性地理解他们的技术工具并在必要时创造性地加以改造运用的重要性,培养学生根据实际情况因地制宜灵活解决问题的能力。



于我而言,艺术院校与综合大学的主要区别在于,艺术院校拥有一个具有相似思维和目标的同类群体,而综合大学则涵盖了多元学科,有不同思维和目标的不同群体,从某些方面来说,这是一个更为丰富的环境。

此次展览及其出版文献《中国新媒体艺术教育 20 年 》在很多方面都堪称一块基石,反映了中国数字教育短暂而重要的发展历程,是引领未来的重要参考,也是理解该学科在国内外教育界与整个社会中迅速发展之重要性的重要依据。
My general thinking at the most basic level for the future of Art and Design education in China at a post-secondary level is to provide students with relevant technical and technological skills so they can effectively express their ideas and creative thinking. At the meantime, what’s more important, and the lesson repeatedly taught to us by Art and Design history is that these skills without creativity and the importance of critical innovative thinking prioritizing in the student’s education will result in a limited technical education. Therefore, these technical and technological skills are transmitted to students should help them learning how to response to a rapidly developing society of today, students should be taught the importance to critically understand their technological tools and be able to creatively transform them and if necessary, having the flexibility and capacity to solve problem and apply their knowledge in concreate relevant ways relative to real situations.
For me, the main difference between an Art School and a University is in an Art Schools you have a homogeneous group with similar thinking and objectives whereas in a University you have diverse disciplines with groups thinking differently with different objectives, which in certain respects is a richer environment.
This exhibition and publication "20 Years of New Media Art Education in China" in many ways is a corner stone that reflects the short but important history of Digital Education in China, being an important reference for navigating the future and understanding the importance this discipline’s rapidly evolving development is having here and abroad in education and in society in general.




《中国新媒体艺术教育20年(第一辑)》


本书由十四篇访谈组成,是“中国新媒体艺术教育20年”项目同名图书的第一辑,旨在对中国新媒体艺术教育近二十年的发展线索进行一次回顾性的记录与梳理;以艺术教育工作者个体为中心,注重个人艺术创作与学院教育、教学之间的关系;围绕学院新媒体艺术教育展开,包括学院内外的相关艺术教育实践;涉及实验艺术和跨媒体艺术两个主要二级学科,同时对相关学科概念进行辨析;以口述历史和田野调查的方法推进,以访谈录、纪录片和调研报告的形式呈现;强调独立的学术研究立场,试图为中国未来新媒体艺术教育提供一种参考。
